Welcome to Global Alpine, the guiding website of IFMGA Mountain Guide Andrew Wexler. Since 1999 Global Alpine has specialized in running low-ratio, highly personalized ski, rock and alpine adventures both locally and abroad.

From our backyard in Canmore and Banff National Park to the European Alps and beyond, our goal is to show each guest the highest quality outing possible. Whether you want to climb a dream route, ski a big line, go for a hike or improve your mountain skills, we can make it happen. Just pick the dates and the activity and let us do the rest.

High End Guiding

Do you have a specific objective in mind? Maybe you are looking to ski a big line in the Canadian Rockies or climb a long, difficult route like the East Ridge of Mt Temple, the North Ridge of Assiniboine or the Matterhorn. Objectives like this often take numerous trips together before they are realized. On committing objectives, it is important for the guide and client to have 100% trust in eachother. This trust does not happen overnight and often takes numerous outings to establish. If you have a climbing or skiing goal in mind, let’s work to make it happen.

Private Guiding

Oftentimes the best days in the mountains happen without too much planning. Not sure what to do? Tell us what activity you are interested in and let us make the most of your time. Whether you are keen to spend the day rock climbing at a local cliff, hiking / running a local trail, climbing a mountain, or skiing mellow powder slopes, let us show you around.

Instructional Guiding

As much as we enjoy guiding on specific objectives, we also love sharing what we’ve learned. Whether you are interested in crevasse rescue, rock rescue, glacier travel, learning to lead, intro to backcountry skiing or avalanche safety, a single day or week spent with a professional guide will increase your skill set exponentially. We pride ourselves in catering to the exact needs and interests of our guests.
