Crevasse Rescue and Glacier Travel

On this 2 day course, we will bring you up to speed on how to travel safely on a glacier and what to do if someone falls into a crevasse. We will start with the basics such as gear selection, knots and rope techniques, and progress to various hauling and extraction methods. Whether you are a climber or a skier, our crevasse rescue and glacier travel course will increase your confidence and open up the world of big mountain climbing and skiing.

Topics to be addressed include:

- Knots
- Glaciology
- Rope configuration
- Hauling techniques
- Rappelling
- Rope ascension
- Anchor building in snow and ice
- Gear selection
- Travel techniques

Cost: $399 per person for a 6:1 guest to guide ratio. Minimum of 3 participants required.

Avalanche Training

Proper avalanche training is a must for anybody heading in to the mountains. Whether you are new to the winter snow environment or are an experienced practitioner looking to brush up or increase your skills, we can tailor a course to fit your needs. From companion rescue, probing and shoveling to more advanced travel techniques and stability tests, we’ll cover all the most important topics to help you travel safely in the mountains.

Cost: $750 for a 4:1 guest to guide ratio. Add $75 per person for each additional participant. Maximum guest to guide ratio is 6 guests to one guide.

Note: to get the most out of the day, all participants are required to use ski touring gear.
